MERCEDES AMG SL

The SL name plate is one of the most iconic in the automotive industry.

The iconic Mercedes sports car has been given new life under the AMG division with a more performance orientated theme. With suv's dominating sales charts and sedans on the decline, sports cars as you would imagine are not sellimg at all.

Mercedes Benz has had the desire to keep the SL name alive and thus given AMG responsibility of developing the new car. AMG has developed the SL in conjunction with the all new AMG GT sports car, which will lower development costs and make the car more viable.

The all new SL looks incredible from every angle, some design elemnts pay homage to the original SL. The new car will go up against models from Aston Martin, Bentley and Porsche.

Ferrari turns 75 years old this year and what better way to celebrate than with a ultra limited edtion hyper car from the icona series.

The brand is the most iconic racing teams in history and is still the branding icon in formula 1, but Ferrari has also been dominatiing prototype and production car racing for decades. At the 1967 24 hours of Daytona, Ferrari took the top three places in the first round of the championship. The new Daytona SP3 is a tribute to that era of racing.

The new Daytona SP3 is powered by a naturally aspirated V12 engine, linking it back to the glory days of racing. The car is clearly inspired by heritage and it takes that iconic design themes into the modern world. Like all Hyper cars the Daytona will be limited production run. Only 599 units will be produced with all sold out before the public debut.

Many hyper and super cars are going hybrid and full out electric, but Ferrari made a smart choice in making this Icona series model a naturally aspirated V12. This would increase its desirability and investment value in the long term, the collectibility factor of having a limited run Ferrari in 2022 with a naturally aspirated V12 engine is incredible. The Daytona SP3 is similar to the Bugatti Bolide in the sense that a collector can acquire a combustion engine from an iconic brand in year 2022. Bugatti has already taken steps towards its next model which will be all electric with its partnership with Rimac.
